Evening, towards Night

In this mean neighborhood,

Under the light cast by
The streetlight opposite

The derelict house, a lone
White horse shining, a lamp

In a vacant lot.

  1. A beauty.

"shining" lifts up to (and earns) "a lamp", while history as always gets its own back, in "a vacant lot".

In this lot, all is common.

  2. Thanks, Tom--

If "in this lot, all is common," should poets look upon themselves as an "uncommon" lot or should they not? =:>0!
