Two Ways of Looking at the Gravity of the World

Pessimism:

Red-eyed,

The first thing you see
In the morning
Is a falling
Yellow
Leaf.

Optimism:

What--

An uplifting
Brisk wind brings it

To land on a flying green tarmac.

  1. My “contribution”:

According to Don Marquis: “A pessimist is a person who has had to listen to too many optimists.”

On the side of optimism, however, we have:

    The optimist fell ten stories.
    At each window bar
    He shouted to his friends:
    “All right so far.”
