Exegesis

I made you blind not to have you
Believe the light but to have you

Believe me.

  1. This is a classic Zambaras poem! Couldn't remove a word without losing a tremendous amount. A number of possible interpretations, ranging from (1) the speaker of the poem being God, to (2) the possibility that the speaker is a well-meaning person in any kind of relationship who is justifying the ends no matter what the means, to (3) the speaker being any deceitful con man (or con woman). Excellent poem!

  2. And a classic Levy comment--insightful interpretation coming after a close and thoughtful reading--thanks, John.
