And he holds all those things one didn't need at the time and gave back, only to look for them again, round other corners, atop different mountains, 'cross storm-tossed seas, and in that case, he just waits, then points you to a different path, one more befitting your chosen way of trekking. In the end it's all the same, you get to go where you need to go, to arrive at who you are, and gain some inkling what the all of "is" is--or something like that, whatever label that goes by. "Sit down and be silent," said the wind. You'll miss your boat.
So many things come to mind, from two little lines in a poem. However do you DO that, Vassilis?! Thanks. (I think.) :)
Can God make a stone he cannot life?
ReplyDeleteA question my husband asked his teacher, a Catholic brother, many many years ago. At which he was told to sit down and be silent.
A hard question your husband asked his teacher; perhaps that's why the brother chose to answer "Sit down and be silent"--like a stone!
ReplyDeleteDefiant epitaph...
ReplyDeleteI’d love to find this again a thousand years from now. Or maybe I just did.

William the Conqueror,
ReplyDeleteYou've just conquered Time again...and again....ad infinitum.
Annie,
How do I DO that? I wish I knew but let me just say (tongue in cheek), "God works in mysterious ways!" Thanks!
Friend,
ReplyDeleteI have pondered these lines many times since the day I read them, trying to wrap my head around them.
Today, God has seen fit to take away my unborn son, only weeks from the day I should have held him in my arms for the first time.
I cannot help the tears as I write this.
I still cannot wrap my head around it.
But I thank you. You have been there for me, though we hardly know eachother's names.
Thank you, and God bless all of us.
