new old kid on the blog,
with an occasional
old or new poem written off
the old writer's block
I hope we are relevant, but to whom and for what? We tend to overstate our significance, I'm sure but without it, how do we go on? Art Durkee would probably say something here about the teachings of buddhism. I'm afraid I know little about it myself. In any case, thanks for your wonderful words here.
Last weekend we had a friend from India visiting us. She shared with us what she would like to be in her next life. She had no any doubt that this next life would come. So?We are relevant simply because we are there. What a comforting thought for a Saturday afternoon
Thank you both for sharing your thoughts on this particular poem; it was primarily meant as an attempt to answer the question that poets, among others, have always loved to ask: "Are poets relevant?" I suspect we'll never have a satisfactory answer!
Poets? Perhaps in the All of things, not. But their poetry? Definitely!
Awyn,Yes, of course, but in the All of things, what about that poetry which is especially irreverent?
