new old kid on the blog, with an occasional old or new poem written off the old writer's block
Are we to watch out for the predator or the victim? Or are they one and the same?
And ain't orthography a bitch? Out loud we'd hear both "pray" and "prey", but on the page ... well, the poet has to choose one or the other. Still, it's there: a bit of inspired cognitive dissonance....
Elisabeth,From your vantage point as both writer and psychologist, I'd say you know the answer to both questions.Joe,I thought you'd appreciate hearing that "inspired cognitive dissonance" (pray) was the last word that found its way into this poem. Thanks to you both for commenting!
