Effing fantastic! I've often said I consider myself part barnacle. Said it some poem somewhere. But that "former self" thing ... not what I had in mind, but true. Vero nihil verius, as the motto of the man whose pseudonym was "Shakespeare" had it: "Nothing truer than truth."
