Thanks, Joe--but why go all that way to Beijing? The high cost of heating fuel and plummeting wages due to the economic crisis has led Athenians back to wood stoves and fireplaces, burning everything they can get their hands on and producing a malodorous, murderous thick blanket of smog in the process. Down here in the southern Peloponnese, we may still feel the economic crunch but our air is still clean......for the time being.
Perfect! Of course, if you were in Beijing this morning you'd have to tie a mask on that canary—fresh air there being hard to come by....
