And yet...listening more closely, now, it's impossible not miss the busy, oblivious sounds of the forest creatures, most of them very small, moving around and making what they can of what's be-fallen their once pristine domain.
Good to know someone is (after all) there to hear them (if not it -- that is, the cut, the crash).
And after that, the rest is silence... maybe.
