Huuklyeand Cinquor on Why There Are So Many Bad Poems Out There

Too few poets know when
They’ve started one—

Still fewer know when
They should’ve stopped.

Moderator’s comments: Many poets might find themselves saying many things about this one but I for one am going to stop before I get carried away.

  1. Who knows if one
    One's started is good?

    And as for knowing when
    To stop—as Ed Baker

    Says, "It ain't great
    Poetry, but what is?"

  2. Quite right, Joe but perhaps the crafty Cinquor is referring specifically to The Great Flood of Poetic Creation that has recently inundated the previously parched prairies of Poesyland--i.e. a lot of crafts floating out there but very little craft.
