Beautiful, words and picture both. Once, my father found a clump of white asparagus growing in our vineyard and he transplanted it by our house well. It flourished their all through my growing-up years and beyond, and handfuls such as yours graced our table many times.
Truly one of our favorite spring adventures is roaming the countryside near our house for these delicacies--many different ways to prepare them but our preferred method is slowly grilling them on tin foil over hot coals in our fireplace, though my Spanish omelette stuffed with these little spears has also pierced the heart of many fine friends many times. Kali oreksi!
