Advent of Winter

Photo taken some years ago during a rare snowstorm that hit the area and stayed for about a week; poem written round about the same time.

With daylight temperatures in Southern Greece hovering in the middle 20s (that's centigrade, of course) for the last month or so, it makes one long for the days when winter was definitely not for the birds.

Here in Tenerife it snowed on the volcano, "Teide", two or three days ago, because of a great storm.

    Nice, ethereal poem.

  2. A wonderful companion to Williams's "white/sweet/May" poem. In fact, it's better.... Bravo!

  4. Thanks, Mario; I also live next to a “volcano” i.e., Mt. Voulkano, although no one knows if it’s ever erupted. Perhaps it’s better it’s just a figment of our imagination!

Nice of you to say so, Joe, but I don’t know if this is better than “The Locust Tree in Flower,” one of my favorites; by the way, have you heard this rendition?=:0)!

    The perfect complement/compliment, Noxalio, thanks!
