Wanna Be a Poet?

Choose your words

Carefully if you must,
But never lose track of how

Many have been rejected.

  1. Vassilis,

I find it's the myriad discarded words that form my real poetry

  2. All those rejections, Vassilis, my own and those from others, many more words than have been accepted I suspect.

  3. Interesting observation, Conrad; brings to mind what Nicholas Guillen had to say about "pure poetry": "Pure poetry is what is left in the poem after eliminating everything that is not poetry."

Elisabeth--The phrase "Many have been rejected" also refers to "poets"!

Thanks to you both for commenting!
