As I Live and Breathe

I may be plumb tuckered,
Tired and worn out,

But

To my dying day, I swear
I’ll never utter another

Lifeless cliché.

  1. Lifeless, these cliches may be, but still they work for me.

I like to mix a cliche in with a new expression, that way you get the best of both worlds, the old and familiar and the new.

Thanks Vassilis, for this 'tongue-in-cheek' verse. Like all your other amazing poetry it works so well.

  2. Elisabeth,

As is evident, I too have a soft spot in my heart for cliches! Thanks for letting me know I have a partner in crime.

  3. the (main) thing about clee-shays is
    that they are (mostly true)

    as

    every penny (word) saved
    is a penny (word) earned:

you can 'take t h a t to the bank!
