Ten Not-So-Easy Pieces and An Epilogue

  3. Absolutely. And I was also thinking of this passage:

“She is at once generous, outgoing, caring, friendly, loving, compassionate, hard-working, devoted, self-sacrificing, persevering—to mention only a few such traits—while I am lacking in one and all of these! Eleni says that even though I am very ‘special,’ I am also very difficult to live with, but that that special quality was more compelling than my idiosyncrasies and something made life with me an adventure. She does say, tongue in check, that no other woman could have suffered beside me for so long — had I married anyone else, that someone would have divorced me 20 times over!”
