We have no bats

In our belfry

Because we have

No bell tower—

So we have to make do

With what we have

To do without, even if it does

Sound crazy.

Exactly that about that up-

Side down bloated

Carcass as we drove past,

I wonder if he really believed

Something could be too dead;

I mean dead is dead and there’s

No too about it, though 

Strangely enough, his phrase keeps 
Running through my mind where 
It continues to keep me wondering,

Its strangeness too, too alive.

Everything’s perfectly balanced—

Going out, you will leave just

As much light behind you

As you brought coming in.

of the flower

blade

of the knife

of the road

the turning

harrow of

snow
