Of bursting, tart 

Nipples breasting 

 

Forth, oh dear

God that dappled

Facing the garden, 

In-between 

 

Our mutual scrolling through 

The morning news, out of the corner 

Of my eye, I can just make out 

 

A pair of sparrows skittering in 

Our singular blossoming 

Almond tree— 

 

I wonder what it is 

You’re looking at, 

My love.

Time to spit it out: 

While you were whiling 

 

Time away trying 

To find those perfect 

 

Fixings to complement 

A charmed life lived 

 

To the fullest, the missing 

Ingredient was always 

 

There on the tip
