Tips of blighted cypresses,

Those firm apples nearing 

Fullness upon the green 

 

Bough, her bodice tight

Of bursting, tart 

Nipples breasting 

 

Forth, oh dear

God that dappled

Facing the garden,

Our mutual scrolling through 

The morning news, out of the corner 

Of my eye, I can just make out 

 

A pair of sparrows skittering in 

Our singular blossoming 

Almond tree— 

 

I wonder what it is 

You’re looking at, 

My love.
