Black As Only Loneliness Can Be

Mid-February

In our flowering solitary
Almond, one lone starling—

You don't know how black
Loneliness can be.

  2. Thanks for telling me so, Annie, but don't forget--close up, a starling is really a glossy purple and green.

  6. John,

A case of three birds with one stone? :-) My thank-you makes four.

    Peter,

You'll have to wait for your tulips to bloom in my garden--I think they still have three or four weeks--if you can wait that long!

    Laura,

Loved that quote and your comment; I feel honored, coming as it does from such a gifted artist as yourself.
